What is your involvement on campus?
I am an active member of Fourth Estate, the Mason student newspaper.  I currently serve as the news editor.  I started my first semester of college as a staff writer.  I am also a founding chapter member of Pi Beta Phi, a social Greek organization for women.

What has been your favorite class?
I took Communication 101: Interpersonal and Group Communication the first semester of my freshmen year.  It was the first class for my major and the content was applicable to everyday communication.  The content taught me ways to communicate with a diverse group of people in many different settings.  It builds a very valuable skillset for any student.

What is the most exciting aspect of this current year?
I am excited to have some experience under my belt as the news editor for Fourth Estate.  I am excited to progress as an upperclassmen student.

Tell me about your experience tweeting for the official GMU Twitter account for the week?
I truly enjoyed the experience.  It was challenging at times, because there are so many followers of GMU on Twitter.  I had to balance a lot of different responsibilities.  It was great to tweet and interact with so many individuals.  I enjoyed putting my own personal touch on the tweets.

Do you have any academic research aspirations?
I am a strong advocate for sexual assault victims.  I would love to eventually research how a lack of interpersonal communication skills can negatively affect personal situations that sexual assault victims might encounter.

What are your career goals after graduating from Mason?
My top priority is to have a career in journalism.  It would be a dream to end up behind the camera in broadcast.  If I can help inform the public then I will be successful.

What advice do you have for new Mason students?
I would recommend that all students get involved on campus.  It is a great way to meet people and achieve personal success.

What would you do with an hour of free time away from classes?
I would watch The Wire with my teacup Yorkie.  She is at home in Sterling and I miss her so much!

Who is your favorite public figure to follow on Twitter?
I enjoy following the Kane Show from Hot 99.5 FM.  Kane covers a great deal of local news and constantly shares funny content.
