2020 Dean's Challenge Award Recipient
Jasmine Rose, a junior majoring in psychology, has remained dedicated to furthering her education over the years. Upon entering college, Jasmine began to major in psychology with the hopes of helping disadvantaged groups. Since then, she has participated in a variety of research labs. Standout lab experiences include an I/O psychology apprenticeship at ODU, and the Multicultural Academic Opportunities Program (MAOP) at Virginia Tech. Currently, Jasmine is completing community-based social justice research, in the Lab for Community R.E.A.C.H.
For her honors thesis in psychology, Jasmine is focusing on the unique collegiate experience of Black women. She hopes to use this research to inform institutional decision making, surrounding the collegiate experience of minorities.
