What is your involvement on campus?
I am a member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity.  Through that organization I am able to work on a number of professional development and service projects.  The past two years I was radio DJ with WGMU.  My plan is to hopefully get involved with the Mason Cable Network this year.

What has been your favorite class?
My favorite class was Italian 210 in spring 2012.  It was challenging, but I learned a lot about the Italian language and culture.

Who is your favorite professor?
Dr. Cathy Wright from the Communication Department is my favorite professor.  Communication Theory was an in-depth class, but she made it enjoyable and easy to understand.

What are you most excited about for the 2013-2014 academic year?
This year I will gain a wealth of knowledge through the classes I am taking within my major.   This will help me moving forward in my career.   As a junior I truly feel like an upperclassmen and I am excited to help mentor the new students.

What has been your most meaningful experience at Mason?
The best part about my experience at Mason has been the wonderful people I have met during my time here.  The diversity of the student population has helped me network with people from so many different backgrounds.  It helps expand your perspective.

Tell me about your recent summer internship?
I worked at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum as a Visitor Services Coordinator.  I handled the daily operations making sure that visitors enjoyed their experience.  The two major projects I worked on were renovating the entire file sharing system and establishing a new QR technology system.

Do you have a favorite place to study on campus?
If not in my room, I enjoy studying at the Starbucks on campus.  The atmosphere is perfect and the coffee is an added bonus.

What advice do you have for new Mason students?
Make sure you are open to new opportunities on campus and get to know as many other students and professors as possible.  I found my summer internship by keeping in contact with the Communication Department.
