The annual Celebration of Scholarship is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 12, from 4:30 - 6:00 pm in the Mason Hall Atrium.

The Celebration recognizes the faculty who have won the Award for Scholarship and students who have excelled in the classroom and in the community.

The recipients of these awards receive a stipend thanks to our generous donors.

The 2012 Award for Scholarship is presented to Colin Dueck, associate professor in the Department of Public and International Affairs. This year, the college also recognizes the work of the Center of Excellence in Neuroergonomics, Technology, and Cognition (CENTEC).

Along with the faculty, the Celebration honors students who have received the Dean’s Challenge for 2012-2013 and the recipients of the Freshman Academic Achievement Scholarship, the First-Sweitzer Scholarship, and the Robert R. Thomas, Jr. Scholarship.

“The Celebration of Scholarship is a great opportunity to bring together our outstanding faculty and students. It acknowledges their excellence in the presence of family and friends and the larger Mason community,” said Jamie Cooper, associate dean of undergraduate academic affairs in the college.

The Celebration of Scholarship is open to the students being recognized, their families and friends, faculty, and staff.
