Academic advising in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences remains available, and our departments and programs are prepared to support your advising needs while prioritizing the health and welfare of our entire campus community.

The fall schedule is now available to view in Patriot Web and registration is ongoing. Before contacting your advisor with questions, run your Degree Evaluation in Patriot Web (instructions below) to see what requirements you have remaining and if/when those courses are offered in the upcoming semester.

If you are a new student for Fall 2020, be sure to connect with your advisor for pre-orientation advising or during your scheduled orientation session to discuss fall registration.
It is important to reflect on what posed the biggest challenges for you in Spring, to find out what resources might be in place to work through those challenges.
Talk with your academic advisor about your progress and degree plan - do you need a different path (repeating courses, reducing course load) to move forward? Your advisor can help you understand your current academic standing and your options.
Review resources available from University Life, particularly Learning Services and well-being support units. All Mason student services offices are available over the summer to talk with you.
Learning Services has prepared an excellent guide for how to be successful in online learning environments, regardless of how many online courses you have taken. Visit their website for tips, as well as links to all of their virtual learning resources.
First, speak with your instructor to discuss your performance and options for improving your grade. You may also consult with your academic advisor if you have questions about your academic standing, repeating courses, and future course planning.
