What is your involvement on campus?
I’ve served as a Peer Advisor for the University 100 program for the past three years. This spring 2016 semester I am working with a class of international students. I am the current president of the Mason Dance Works student run dance organization. This group is a creative outlet for students who want to perform on and off campus at various events. I am also the president of Mason Movement Exchange, which works to build sustainable dance programs for at-risk youth and underserved communities. This is a newer organization and I hope it continues to flourish after I graduate.

What is the most exciting aspect of this current year?
I am thrilled to see not only how much I have grown during time at Mason, but also my peers and the organizations I have been a part of on campus. It is great to see all of the hard work over the years coming to fruition.

What is your favorite undergraduate course at Mason?
The class that has been most beneficial is Applied Behavior Analysis. It helped me learn how to work with people that are very diverse. It allowed me to understand the functions of behavior to help inclusion in a general education classroom setting.

What are your future goals?
I am dedicated to becoming an educator. After I finish my accelerated master’s degree next year, I hope to gain my license in special education. A dream I have is to develop a dance program for students with developmental and physical disabilities. There is so much a person can learn about himself or herself through dance. I would want this to be an affordable program for all families.

What advice do you have for new Mason students?
My advice would be to get involved in new and exciting opportunities as soon as possible. Learning alongside my professors and peers through a variety of experiences has provided a wealth of growth opportunities for me over the years.

What would you do with an hour of free time away from classes?
I would love to get outside on a nice day and take a trail hike with a group of friends.

What is your favorite quote?
“Above the clouds the sun is always shining.“

Can you tell me a fun fact about yourself?
I have a twin sister, Olivia. She is older by one minute and always used to give me a hard time about it.
