The university has been included in the Shanghai Ranking’s top 200 universities since 2007. The Shanghai Rankings have been made since 2003, and were the first published global ranking of universities. Schools are considered based on Nobel Laureates, Fields Medals, and highly-cited researchers among the institutions’ alumni and faculty.

“These results are great news, and reconfirm what we already know about the strength of our social sciences programs, which have been consistently nationally ranked,” said Jamie Cooper, associate dean for academic affairs in the college. “The fact that we rank so highly in an international assessment reinforces our reputation on a wider scale.”
